Note: | This gem is from the Eldarado Bar along the Missouri river , just below the Canyon Ferry Dam. I have mined there in my younger days with some success. It was extraordinarily hard work. Stones as nice as this one are not common.
This stone is richly colored and of a single hue to my eye. Outside it is a cornflower blue , like most Montana sapphire it does have a "steely" quality . I think that whatever gives the stone the " steely " character also gives them a brilliance not seen in other sapphires from other locations around the world.
The Barion cut gives the stone good brilliance and color,a great ring stone.
